The Sioux Nation Treaty Council, established in 1894 by He Dog, will be meeting on Saturday, Nov. 1st, from 9:00  AM to 5:00 PM, in the Hall of the Mother Butler Center, 221 Knollwood Dr., Rapid City, South Dakota.


The agenda includes:

 a Memorial Honoring for Imogene Taken Alive, Maryjane Tiokasin, and Alice Four Horns.  All three elder Kahtela women were strong supporters of the 1868 Treaty.

the Ancient History of the Black Hills by Wajaja elder, John Long Sr.;

the 1980 Supreme Court Decision, Taking from American Citizens, by Dr. Patrick Lee, Oglala Lakota College;

Article 12 of the 1868 Treaty, by Dr. Edward Valandra, University of Manitoba;

the History of the United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples by Dr. Sharon Venne, Cree, International Attorney; and

Decolonization can save our Nation by Charmaine White Face, Spokesperson, Sioux Nation Treaty Council.
