Summary: Responsible to the ESTOO Business Committee for the overall tactical and strategic direction of the casino’s. Ensures all aspects of operations are conducted as efficiently as possible in order to maximize profit potential. Directly supervises all directors including the Asst GM, Slot Techs, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Food & Beverage, Bingo & OTB, Security, and Outpost Operations.

Essential Duties: Develops, communicates, and implements an effective organizational strategy setting objectives for successful operational results and future growth. Ensures appropriate number of qualified employee’s are recruited for and retained to ensure services offered exceed the expectations of external guests and internal customers. Works to ensure a high quality of management operations in all areas of the organization. Provides support and leadership direction to individuals directly reporting to this position. Treats guests and fellow employees with courtesy and consideration at all times within public areas or staff support sections of the casino. Serves as a role model in the interaction with guests and staffing alike. Serves as a member of the casino operations team, attends scheduled meetings, and provides information and status reports concerning areas of responsibility to internal and external management staff. Maintains appropriate staffing levels at the top management level by interviewing, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and terminating top management as needed. May be called upon to decide final outcome of all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, evaluate, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline any employee. Monitors all activities within the casino’s, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the organization, and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) are enforced throughout the casino’s. Regularly reviews and evaluates department and overall performance, working with department heads to take the appropriate steps to resolve unsatisfactory results and conditions. Ensures assigned staff accurately prepares detailed daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports as well as the annual Business Plan (forecasted budget) for the following year. Monitors and ensures expenses remain within the operational projections, approves variances as may be necessary to ensure casino wide revenues are maintained or enhanced, ensures guests/employees safety, and that facility maintenance is upheld. Analyzes operating statistics, financial reports, budgets and provides guidance or direction that will assist directors in operating their departments in an effective and efficient manner. Maintains excellent working relationships with all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure the casino is in compliance. Evaluates and makes final decisions on casino wide contracts in accordance with authority. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the casino’s, by developing effective procedures and controls by presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with the members of the leadership team. Develops and implements staff development plans for those employees who display the necessary skills, motivation and attitude to grow within the company. Ensures all employees within areas of responsibility receive fair and equitable treatment with regard to their respective terms and conditions of employment.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area from a four-year college and/or a minimum of 6 to 10 years in the gaming industry on an executive level is required.

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members if the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to read, create and interpret budgets, financial data and work with mathematical concepts such as profitability and statistical inference.

Special Requirements: Must possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills. Experience with effective leadership techniques, financial reporting/analysis, and cost benefit analysis is required.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems as they arise, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Licenses, Certifications: Obtain/maintain Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license.
