Wings of America conducting qualifying races

Wings of America will conduct three Regional qualifying races in the Northern Plains, Southern Plains, and Southwest area.  Men’s race will be an 8k, while women’s race will be a 6k.  Top three men and women from each of the regional qualifying races will receive an automatic spot to race at the Wings National qualifying race to be held in Albuquerque on December 19 after a processing fee is received.  The individuals placing 4th through 10th place will receive an invitation to race at the National Qualifying Race after a processing fee is received.  More information regarding funding for those eligible to compete at the National Qualifying in Albuquerque, NM, is being reviewed, further information will follow.  Top six men and women at the National Qualifying Race will receive an all-expense paid trip to the USA Cross Country Championships to be held February 11-14, 2010 in Spokane, Washington after a processing fee is received.

Runners must be:
Jr. men and women ages 14-19, cannot turn the age of 20 before February 13, 2010.
Must be enrolled in a federally recognized American Indian tribe or able to prove ¼ Indian blood.
Must be in good academic standing to miss several days of school, if qualified to travel.

Wings of the Northern Plains

Pre-Registration fee and form must be postmarked on or before October 31 - $25 to the Wings office.

Wings of the Southern Plains

Location: Riverside Indian School, Anadarko, Oklahoma
Pre-registration fee and form must be postmarked on or before November 7 - $25 to the Wings office.
Race day registration fee - $30

Wings of the Southwest

Location: Albuquerque, NM; Time: TBA
Pre-registration fee and form must be postmarked on or before November 21 - $25 to the Wings office.
Race day registration fee - $30

Wings of America National Qualifying Race
-Top 6 men and top 6 women receive a spot on the Wings of America USAXC team to Spokane, Washington.
-2 alternates (7th and 8th) in both races receive automatic spot if top 6 do not send in processing fee or decline.
