THE INDIAN NATIONAL FINALS RODEO CELEBRATES 35 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL INDIAN RODEO AT THE SOUTH POINT ARENA AND EQUESTION CENTER
The top American Indian cowboys and cowgirls will be in Las Vegas at the South Point Arena and Eques-trian Center from November 8th through November 13th, 2010 for the Indian National Finals Rodeo and the Indian National Finals Junior and Senior Rodeo.
BROWING, MT (October 26, 2010) – The Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) is excited to announce the championship event for professional Indian rodeo will be at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center from November 8th through November 13th.
Donna Hoyt, INFR’s General Manager announced, “This year’s championship rodeo promises to be the biggest and best rodeo yet. We’re celebrating our 35th anniversary and will be honoring our past cham-pions. We’re really excited to celebrate their personal accomplishments and the successes of the In-dian National Finals Rodeo.”
This year’s rodeo features American Indian cowboys and cowgirls hailing from over 100 different tribal Nations from all over the Unites States and Canada. They are the best in professional Indian rodeo and are representing their tribes, states, communities, and families.
Ed Harry, a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in northern Nevada with ties to the Walker River Paiute Tribe, said, “It’s an honor to represent Nevada in the INFR.” Harry first qualified for the Indian National Finals Rodeo in the team roping event in 1983.
In addition to Harry, there will be 286 contestants competing in 8 events including bareback bronc rid-ing, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, ladies break away, barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling, and team roping.
This year also marks the first time the INFR will have a Junior and Senior rodeo. This event features 123 contestants competing in 5 events. The events include team roping, senior breakaway roping, jun-ior barrel racing, junior breakaway roping, and junior steer riding. Junior contestants must be age 15 and younger while senior contestants are 50 and older.
The Indian National Finals Junior and Senior Rodeo will begin November 9th with a 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm performance. Pre-sale tickets are $5.00, while tickets purchased at the door will be $10.00.
The Indian National Finals Rodeo begins November 10th and continues through November 13th. Per-formances are at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Pre-sale tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets at the door are $20.00 for adults and $8.00 for students. Wednesday, November 10th is “Diabetes Awareness Night” and tickets will be discounted $5.00.
