YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) – The National Park Service has extended the public comment period for a proposal to quarantine some Yellowstone National Park bison on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.

The Park Service says the comment period for the environmental assessment has been extended for another two weeks. The comment period will now close on Feb. 29.

The agency says the comment period was extended to allow for additional time for the public to review the proposal and submit comments for consideration. There will be no additional public meetings held during the extension period.
