PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – The names of three Crow Creek Sioux tribal officials who face prison time in a bribery case have been removed from the tribe's general election ballot.

Tribal Vice Chairman Randy Shields, Treasurer Norman Thompson Sr. and Secretary Thomas Thompson Sr. pleaded guilty late last month in what authorities said was a construction contract bribery and retaliation case on the South Dakota reservation. Fort Pierre contractor Archie Baumann also pleaded guilty.

Election Board chairwoman Connie Otterrobe says the names of the three tribal officials will be removed from the list of eight Tribal Council candidates in the reservation's Fort Thompson District. Voters on April 15 will fill the district's four spots from the remaining five candidates.
