OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – White House officials say President Obama is coming to Oklahoma this week.

White House spokesman Keith Maley confirmed Friday that Obama plans to visit the Choctaw Nation on Wednesday and deliver remarks on expanding economic opportunity. The president plans to stay overnight and then visit the El Reno Correctional Institution west of Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Maley says it will be the first time a sitting president visits a federal prison. He plans to meet with both law enforcement officials and inmates and conduct an interview for a documentary about the nation’s criminal justice system.

Obama last visited the state in 2013 after a major tornado tore through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore.
