NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) – An acclaimed environmentalist and a renowned former basketball coach are scheduled speakers for an energy conference being held by the Three Affiliated Tribes in North Dakota.

The tribes' first Renewable Energy Summit is Tuesday and Wednesday in New Town. Officials say it will focus on responsible energy development.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that speakers will include former Louisiana State basketball coach and motivational speaker Dale Brown, and Ted Strong, a judge for the Yakima Nation who was named environmentalist of the year by the Audubon Society and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Helen Gough, the first tribal member to receive oil royalties, also is scheduled to speak.
