PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a 39-year-old man has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill three members of the tribal police force on the Mohawk Indian reservation on the U.S.-Canada border in northern New York.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 39-year-old Roy Redeye pleaded guilty this week in federal court in Plattsburgh to two counts of interstate threats to injure another person.

Redeye, of the Akwesasne reservation, admitted that in February he posted threats on Facebook to kill three St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police officers. He was arrested in Cortland in central New York, where he was living at the time.

Redeye faces up to five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000 when he’s sentenced April 6.
