BERLIN – At ITB Berlin 2016, the 11th Meeting for Tourism Professionals in Hall 4.1b will focus on the importance of water for the global travel industry.

Water is a valuable and indispensable resource. Some countries have an overabundance of water, while many others are faced with drought and water shortages or live with the threat of natural disasters from flooding and rising sea levels.

From 9 to 11 March at ITB Berlin 2016, the 11th Meeting for Tourism Professionals, taking place in Hall 4.1b Adventure Travel - Responsible Tourism, will have the varying importance of water within the international travel industry as its main topic. Taking as its title ‘Cherishing Earth’s water resources – the blue planet amidst water abundance and scarcity,’ a series of information-packed lectures and lively debates will let visitors find out more about sustainable and responsible tourism which protects natural resources. Numerous networking events will also give visitors an opportunity to exchange views about current and future developments.

In Hall 4.1b, which is devoted to the topic of water, exhibitors whose focus includes adventure travel or responsible tourism can display their products and services and meet visitors interested in this topic. One of the advantages for exhibitors and sponsors in this hall is the opportunity to hold their own lectures on the topic of water or another subject.
