Utah tribal groups get money for medical outreach

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Tribal groups in Utah will get federal grants to improve access to medical care for children.

The largest grant will go to the Utah Navajo Health System, Inc., in Montezuma Creek, which will use the $300,000 to fund outreach programs in White Mesa.

Other recipients include the Indian Walk-In Center in Salt Lake City, which will receive $299,000, and Indian Health Services in Fort Duchesne, which will get $225,000.

The groups are among 41 nationally receiving grants to find and enroll American Indian children who qualify for low-income health programs.
