Television viewers all across Oklahoma and surrounding states will have the opportunity to watch “Pearl,” the award-winning film produced
by the Chickasaw Nation,

8 p.m. CST Saturday, June 11 when it makes its television premiere on the OETA Movie Club hosted by B.J. Wexler.

The family-friendly film focuses on the exceptional teen years of the late Eula “Pearl” Carter Scott, a Chickasaw who earned her pilot’s
license at the tender age of 13 in 1928. By 14, she is flying her father to business appointments and wowing air show audiences with her
aerobatic maneuvers all over Oklahoma.

A repeat telecast of the movie is scheduled 11 p.m. Friday June 17.

Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby said the story of the Chickasaw aviatrix was a natural for the tribe’s first feature-length
film project.

“Pearl is a legendary figure in the history of Oklahoma, the world of aviation and in the Chickasaw Nation,” said Gov. Anoatubby. “She was a dynamic, determined and caring individual who exemplifies many of the finest qualities of Chickasaw people. She was a unique individual who had a profoundly positive impact on everyone she met.”

“Bringing her life story to millions of OETA viewers will help preserve that impact for generations to come.”

With OETA’s statewide network of four transmitting stations and 15 translator stations, more than 1.8 million viewers tune into OETA on a
weekly basis.

“Pearl” premiered last year at Warren Theatre in Moore, Okla. and has been successfully screened and warmly received at several film
festivals and air shows nationwide. The film has also garnered many accolades from audiences and film industry insiders.

The Dove Foundation awarded “Pearl” four “Doves,” endorsing the film as family-approved for all ages.

The movie was filmed at various locations in Oklahoma, including the historic Harn Homestead, the El Reno Municipal Airport, the Jude and
Jody Airport and several locations in and around Guthrie.

“Pearl” features several Chickasaw cast members.

Paden Brown, a Byng (Okla.) High School junior, plays Arnetta, Pearl’s little sister.

Pauline Brown, Chickasaw elder and culture preservationist, portrays Widow Harjo in the film.

Paulina Gee, three-year-old daughter of Chickasaw Nation Deputy Attorney General Debra Gee, was cast as Louise, Pearl’s oldest
daughter.

Other Chickasaws with speaking parts in “Pearl” include: Micah Hart (Older Georgie), former Chickasaw Princess Jaisen Monetatchi
(Chickasaw Bride) and Dakota Brown (Chickasaw Friend).

Dozens of Chickasaw citizens, Chickasaw Nation employees and community members were featured as extras.
