Accomplished Cherokee musician, actor, speaker, author, and entrepreneur Gary "Litefoot" Davis' music now available on iTunes

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada – Famed Native American musician actor, speaker, author, and entrepreneur Gary “Litefoot” Davis will serve as the Co-Host for the prestigious 2015 Indigenous Music Awards, taking place tonight in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at the MTS Centre. This is the 10th edition of the awards show, which was previously called the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. Litefoot’s music career dates back to 1991, when he became the first American Indian rap artist with the release of The Money E.P on his own recording label, Red Vinyl Records. He has won both “Album of the Year” and “Artist of the Year” honors from the Native American Music Awards. He is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

“It is an honor to serve as co-host for the Indigenous Music Awards,” said Litefoot. “The IMA brings together the best of Native music across North America, and celebrates a rich and diverse culture that we all share. I look forward to joining with my fellow musicians and entertainers as we honor and celebrate their valuable contributions to indigenous music.”

The IMA kicks off a busy month for Litefoot, whose music was recently added to iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and other online outlets. Litefoot’s catalog can be found on his website, or by clicking here. Eight of Litefoot’s albums are available for purchase, including the award-winning Native American Me and his latest album Relentless Pursuit.

Music is only one aspect of Litefoot’s career. He is an accomplished actor, having starred in movies such as Mortal Kombat Annihilation and The Indian in the Cupboard, the latter of which will soon be re-released on Blu-ray in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its original release. Litefoot is a noted and sought-after author, speaker, and entrepreneur who was recently honored by Indian Country Today as one of the “50 Faces of Indian Country” and he will later this month receive the prestigious “Seven Star Award” from the Cherokee National      Historical Society.

Currently, Davis serves as President and CEO of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, a non-profit that assists American Indian Tribes and entrepreneurs with business and economic development.
