SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) – The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has donated $6 million to First Nations Experience, the California-based television network dedicated to Native Americans.

The San Bernardino Sun says the goal of the gift announced Monday is to expand viewership and improve content at the public TV network known as FNX.

It was launched by KVCR-TV in September 2011.

The newspaper says FNX can already be seen by up to 11 million people in several states including California, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska, Minnesota and Illinois.

Among the upcoming shows is a documentary called “Tribal Nations: The Story of Federal Indian Law.”
