COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) – About 50 people will gather at Central Community College later this month to learn more about Native American tribes of the Plains.
Organizers expect about 50 community college faculty members from 27 states to attend two weeklong workshops that focus on the history and culture of the Pawnee, Ponca and Omaha tribes.
The workshops will run June 20-25 and June 27-July 2.
A $139,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities is helping pay for the workshops.
