TULSA, Okla. – Nominations are now open for Booker T. Washington High School’s Hall of Fame.

“We want to recognize members of the Booker T. Washington family who have left an indelible mark on the community while exemplifying the ideals of both the school and its namesake,” Hall of Fame Foundation chairwoman LaVerne Ford Wimberly, Ed.D., said.

Nominees will be considered in one of seven categories: education, medicine and science, business and professional, arts and entertainment, humanitarian and service, athletics and lifetime achievement. Alumni candidates must have graduated at least seven years before their nomination. Former faculty and staff members must have left the school at least three years ago. Honorees may be nominated and inducted posthumously.

 Valid for up to three years, applications must be postmarked by Sept. 15 and are available online through the “News and Announcements” portion of btw.tulsaschools.org. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
