TEMECULA, Calif. – Today’s opening session at RES California kicked off with several prominent speakers, including Derrick Watchman (CEO of Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, and Chairman of NCAIED), Gary Davis (President & CEO of NCAIED), Reggie Lewis (Chairman of Chuckchansi, Inc.), and Barry Brandon (Executive Director of Native American Financial Services Association).

Richard Piccotto delivered a rousing keynote presentation about his experience as the highest ranking firefighter to survive the World Trade Tower collapse on 9/11.

The theme for this Reservation Economic Summit (RES) is “Sustaining Economic Momentum”, and our panel and presentation focus is demonstrating how Native enterprise and entrepreneurship is gaining ground for Native Americans.

Also debuting today is The National Center’s “Teaming Alliance and Business Development Expo”, a special presentation of the National Center Teaming Alliance (NCTA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Speakers will include Paul Smith (SBA), Robin Billups of Women’s Business Enterprise

National Council (WBENC), and Kasum Kavia, Vice President of Combustion Association Inc, and recipient of the 2011 Presidential Award for Excellence in Exporting.
