SALAMANCA, N.Y. (AP) – The Seneca Nation of Indians is convening a daylong meeting with economic development leaders from New York and Pennsylvania.

Thursday's meeting will focus on collaboration between the western New York tribe and officials from various industrial development and business agencies.

The Senecas operate three casinos in western New York and numerous tobacco and gasoline retail operations. But Seneca leaders have been moving in recent years to diversify the economy.

The nation last year last acquired a controlling interest in Washington, D.C.-based wireless and telecommunications provider CT COMM. It's also seeking a license to operate the Seneca Pumped Storage Project at Kinzua Dam on the Allegheny River, a northern Pennsylvania hydropower operation.
