OKLAHOMA CITY – Bank2, which is wholly owned by the Chickasaw Nation, was recently awarded the 2009 Native Hawaiian Housing Award at the 8th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention.  This award was presented by Hawaiian Community Assets in recognition of Bank2’s efforts to provide quality financing to the Native Hawaiian people.

“We are extremely proud to work with Hawaiian Community Assets to advance the opportunities available to the Native Hawaiian people,” stated Bank2 CEO Ross Hill.  “It is the mission of Bank2 to help Native Americans from across the country and we are excited to be able to show such progress in Hawaii.  We look forward to continuing our work there and extending it to other areas of the country.”

One of the main projects of Hawaiian Community Assets is a housing development in the community of Kapolei, Hawaii.  This project currently has over 120 occupied homes with an additional 1,000 to come in the next few years.  Bank2 is privileged to help with the financing on these homes.

In addition, Bank2 presented Hawaiian Community Assets with a $5,000 grant to aid their Foreclosure Prevention Program.

Rod Whitson president of Bank2 acknowledged, “Not only is Bank2 is committed to helping put people in new homes, but we are also devoted to helping them remain in the homes they currently have.  We salute the efforts of Hawaiian Community Assets and look forward to helping raise the bar for the housing opportunities provided to Native Hawaiians.”
