TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) – Officials from the Cherokee Nation plan to unveil plans on Tuesday for a new $170 million retail and hospitality development in Tahlequah.

The project will feature dining, entertainment and retail developments. It will be located near the Cherokee Springs Golf Course.

The tribe’s holding company, Cherokee Nation Businesses, purchased the course and the adjacent 154 acres of undeveloped land in December 2012.

The project is slated to span five years and be broken down into three phases.

Among those scheduled to appear at Tuesday’s 11 a.m. event are Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker, Cherokee Nation Tribal Council members, Cherokee Nation Businesses CEO Shawn Slaton, and City of Tahlequah officials.
